A couple of weeks ago, we started Isla on solids - rice cereal mixed with formula. Her reaction? Yuck. She gagged. She grimaced. She pushed the spoon away. She could not figure out why mommy was scooping this goop into her mouth, but she was pretty sure she didn't like it.

Two weeks later, we are making some progress. Mommy has learned to thin the mixture out a bit and add bananas for improved palatability. Isla in turn will now open her mouth to receive the goop and attempt to swallow it. We still have to work on the swallowing part. She tries, but most of it spills out the front of her mouth rather than going down the back. But progress is progress. I will take what I can get.
