Isla and I had our first swim class today. There were two other kids in the class, a one year old and a three year old. Isla did the best out of the three. The one year old cried through most of the the class, and the three year old, whose mom said he could already swim, wanted to do his own thing.
Isla was a little uncertain about it all, but was a great sport. She was hesitant at first, and then started to warm up to it and seemed to be enjoying herself. That is, until about twenty minutes into the thirty minute class, when we dunked the babies under water. She did not freak out about this. She simply looked very, very shocked. Then, she fussed for the last ten minutes of class. I think the going under part was just too much for her.
All in all, I thought it was a complete success. I am looking forward to going back on Thursday.
